About
Gian Suhner was born in Savognin (Switzerland). After studying history and sociology in Basel and Madrid, he worked as assistant and project manager for documentary films and exhibitions in Switzerland and Germany.
In 2015, he began studying directing at the German Film and Television Academy DFFB in Berlin. His short films have screened at numerous festivals in Germany and abroad and have won several awards.
In March 2021, the special exhibition "LET'S TALK ABOUT MOUNTAINS. A filmic approach to North Korea" opened at the Alpine Museum of Switzerland. He was responsible for conception, direction and editing of the 3.5 hours long video parcours.
In 2022 he was awarded the Culture Promotion Award by the Canton of Graubünden.
Gian Suhner lives and works as a director and filmmaker in Berlin and Chur.
